About the Periodic Table of Haiku
The story behind the internet sensation
The Original Internet Sensation
The Periodic Table of Haiku was created by Ron Sparks in January 2001 as a way to introduce himself to the scifaiku (science-fiction haiku) community that was thriving in that day. It was an overnight Internet sensation and was featured on FARK.COM, SLASHDOT.ORG, in Science Magazine, and was highlighted in a segment of NPR's "All Things Considered."
The Revival
Originally hosted on iSciFiStory.com, Ron's website of the time, it eventually disappeared from the internet when Ron shut down the iSciFiStory.com website. Ron has revived the Periodic Table of Haiku here for historical purposes - there are no current plans to update it beyond the window dressing it has received here for responsiveness in modern web browsers.
